Plants

On Friday we had a Masterchef  junior day. A few terms ago on Matariki we planted silverbeet, parsley, carrot and celery in our garden. We gave the plants water and sunlight with the minerals they needed to survive. They started as sprouts and grew into proper plants.  On the day we had to get in groups of four or five then make and plan our dish. In my group was me, Amelia, Anika and Jacob. We made carrot and lemon pikelets we grated carrot and squeezed the lemon and grated lemon rind. I cooked and flipped them in the electric frying pan. When it came to the end we decorated it in fried banana and maple syrup. The teachers came to every table  and took photos and let us say some things about our dish. When they went to every table they said everybody sit on the mat, and she gave chocolates to a few winners. We won a prize for thinking out of the box and not making it too healthy but the most delicious. Everyone got a lollie if they did not get a chocolate.
